Visit our retreat by the sea...

Come to our Financial Retreat by the Sea and return home with financial clarity, peace of mind, and a direction to follow.

In our hectic times, we don’t often pause to reflect on our lives. Reflection and relaxation time is built into our Financial Retreat Schedule.

Before our first meeting: you will be asked to complete and submit a Financial History, and Money Memories worksheets.

First Morning:

Goal setting and visualization

We begin with a Financial Satisfaction Survey. You will then complete several worksheets to assist you in Clarifying Your Goals, identifying Personal Insights about Planning and Goal Setting, and in setting and quantifying attainable goals for the near term and for the future.

Cash flow analysis and record keeping

You will receive Mvelopes™ software and a one-year subscription to their services. You will also receive a complete home filing system. The record keeping system is designed to maximize tax savings and requires minimal effort to maintain.

Insurance Review

Together we will review and analyze your insurance needs and existing overages and make recommendations, as needed, to insure adequate protection for life, disability, property and casualty, and long term care. I sell no insurance products.

Retirement and Transition Planning

You will complete a Life Transitions Survey that will provide you with questions to explore, financial implications and resources materials for each the transition. We will calculate projected retirement income to determine the lifestyle your planning for.

Investment Policy Statement

We write an Investment Policy Statement that reflects your investment expectations and risk/reward comfort level.

Second Morning

Investment Planning

We analyze your existing investments in relation to yourInvestment Policy Statements.

Investment Strategy with specific recommendations

I make specific recommendations, using passive management or index funds, when necessary, to balance your investments to hedge against inflation and unpredictable economic and market cycles. Diversification appropriate to your investment horizon can enable you to reduce portfolio risk while enhancing returns.

All investment recommendations are made in light of their tax consequences.

Tax Planning

I coordinate your tax and investment planning to make best use of existing tax laws. We also educate you to recognize tax-reducing opportunities in your daily lives.

Estate Planning

You will be guided through the process of deciding how you want your loved ones cared for and your assets divided. The focus is on reducing estate taxes and probate costs while ensuring your wishes will be carried out. We will work together to prepare your Final Directives and you will be given the booklet Five Wishes to complete.

Of course, if an overnight stay doesn’t work for you, we can schedule a traditional series of appointments.

Unique in the industry.

Effective financial planning shouldn't be lonely journey. With the proper guide, it can be an exciting adventure of self-discovery, clarity and security.

While many financial planners focus on a narrow range of issues, Martindale & Associates values a long-term relationship with the client. I want to fully understand your needs and goals. I want to lead you through often confusing and difficult conversations about money and its role in your life so that we can assemble a sustainable and valuable financial plan.

Following are some of the things you can expect from me:

  • A blend of quality-of-life and quantity-of- financial resources.
  • An environment that is conducive to exploration.
  • Broader, deeper conversations about money, finances, security and need.
  • Fee-only financial advice and planning.
  • An enduring client/planner partnership rather than a short-term solution.
  • No minimum investment is required.

We partner with you to integrate your money and your life.
