What is fee-only financial planning?

Unlike many other firms that work on a percentage, Martindale & Assoc. works solely for our clients, which eliminates conflicts of interest regarding compensation.

Less than 1% of all financial planners are fee-only planners. Of that select group, only small number work on a retainer basis that is not tied to assets under management, which means you are not paying when service or results are lacking. Still fewer advisers have the tax expertise to competently analyze the tax consequences of financial decisions. Only a handful have the coaching training and experience necessary to assist you in integrating your money and your life.

As a fee-only firm, we do not sell any financial products nor do we receive commissions. Because we consider financial planning to be a dynamic process, we encourage you to call, e-mail or visit us, in addition to your scheduled appointments, at no extra cost.

Our philosophy.

Effective financial planning shouldn't be a lonely journey. With the proper guide, it can be an exciting adventure of self-discovery, clarity and security.

While many financial planners focus on a narrow range of issues, Martindale & Assoc. values a long-term relationship with you.

It's essential to fully understand your needs and goals in order to lead you through often confusing and difficult conversations about money and its role in your life. Through these conversations we are able to assemble a personalized and valuable financial plan.

Following are just some of the things you can expect from me:

  • Fee-only financial advice and planning. No commissions received and no assets under management (AUM) charged.
  • No minimum investment is required.
  • A blend of quality-of-life and quantity-of-financial resources.
  • Broader, deeper conversations about money, finances, security and need.
  • An environment that is conducive to exploration and discussion.
  • An enduring client/planner partnership rather than a short-term solution.

Integrating your money and your life.
